![]() My journey to sobriety has been one of gratitude, healing, and transformation. Before recovery, my life was consumed by the chaos of addiction. Alcoholism and drug use led me down a dark path filled with homelessness, incarceration, and constant inner battles. I was trapped in a cycle of chasing fleeting highs and feeling disconnected from everyone, even those who loved me the most. Rebuilding my bond with my family has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my recovery. I repaired my relationship with my brother and reconnected with my parents, who had endured so much heartache because of my actions. Today, I no longer feel like the black sheep of the family. The changes in my life and my family’s life have been nothing short of incredible. Staying sober is my way of showing gratitude to everyone who stood by me through my darkest times. The Grandview Foundation and my recovery community have been my lifeline. Peer support, group meetings, and even lighthearted activities like bowling nights have played a crucial role in my journey. Sobriety isn’t just about me—it’s about showing up for others, too. We’re all fighting our battles, but we’re stronger together. |
